Some bourbon friends of mine don’t like this whiskey. I do. It’s one of the few craft whiskeys I’ve had outside of Kentucky that doesn’t taste like young cough medicine and oak. Noses a bit like a wheater (it’s in one of the mashbills) — cherries, oak, leather Taste: kind of brittle, quite sweet, hints of nutmeg and other baking slices Finish: medium At four years I’d say it’s a pretty good mindless sipper. It’s not bad at all. I’d like to try some of their barrel picks and finished whiskeys.

This is solid juice for being younger and from a new distillery. There’s enough flavor to really enjoy neat, safe to assume would make awesome cocktails. There’s a softness that’s present with your classic bourbon flavors topped off with enough spice to keep you coming back. Plenty of finish too. For the price, this is a no brainer. Definitely want to try some of their single barrels I’ve seen recently this is batched with two different mash bills.

Nose: caramel and hazelnut tones with anise on the back end Palate: chocolate followed a brief hint of dark fruits before transitioning to strong citrus notes Finish: short, bursting finish with citrus carrying through Very unique profile, especially for a four year old expression. Simply put, it’s the most complex non-barrel proof bourbon I’ve ever sipped. Highly recommend, especially at such a low price point.

Beautiful dark cherry nose with hints of mocha. Was not expecting much as the Carl T is only 4 years old and relatively inexpensive, but I'm blown away. Rich bourbon character on the palate with just a little burn. Lingering finish of chocolate covered cherry. I usually rate on the 100 point scale. This is a 94!

Nose: Light and easy going, corn mixed with honey. Very pleasant and sweet. Secondary notes of sawmill Notes: tongue tip and enjoyable spicy back, a bit of a ethonal note catches on (taking away from an overall enjoyable bourbon.) Finish: Opens heavier but transitions well, fairly long finish for the proof

Pleasantly surpised by this one! This is my 1st Starlight and it’s definitely a good value buy. I think I paid around $35 for this. Nose: very sweet with mild oak Palate: grain forward with a little pine Finish: medium
