This limited edition expression is a collaboration between Starward Australian Whisky and Lagavulin Distillery. It consists of Starward's flagship red wine cask-finished single malt Australian whisky that has been finished for an additional 18 months in barrels that once held Lagavulin peated single malt from Scotland. It is bottled at 48% ABV and available in limited quantities as of April 2024. (SRP $130)

Smells and tastes like a fresh bottle of Lagavulin 11 - which is not a bad thing but it would be nice to see more of the base whisky shine. The cask strength version of this is completely different and much more unique.
Ripe berries, peaches ans vanilla creme nose, massively juicy and sweet with a hint of earth. Sweet, caramel up front on palette with a strong oak-tannin spice and waft-smoke dry finish. Wonderful
