Using a name based in Danish history, the Stauning KAOS is a reference to the 1935 Prime Minister election in which Thorvald Stauning used the phrase "Stauning or Chaos" to win reelection. The Stauning Distillery has decided to bring you both Stauning and KAOS by blending their Traditional, Peated, and Young Rye whiskies together in a curious marriage. Very limited availability. Bottle full of smoke. The scent of smoke, sweetness and the greatest cereal ever made "Waffle Crisp," slight hint of orange peel and rich maple. The taste is strong with peat, spicy peppercorn, menthol and heavy oak. At 4 years, quite tasty with long finish and lengthy heat. Would be interested in other bottles to see differences.
I have tried many whiskies - but this one I can't get a hold on. I feel like I am going down the rabbit hole with every sip. And I love it - so I bought two bottles.
A disappointment compared to the latest Stauning Young Rye. There is some power and liquorice but the finish is off. (Bottled June 2018) 22-21-21-20=84
På doften påmminner den lite om målarfärg, finns en subtil rökighet. I munnen är den lätt rökig, lite oljig och kryddig. Brännande finish.
