Soft, mild peat and floral, vanilla cream nose. Oily feel. Light peat turns floral like the highlands. Lime custard, white pepper, and a touch of oak. Finish is a little drying. My first pour of it was a disappointment. But it's much better as the bottle opens up.
About this bottle
Kilmory is a core expression from LAGG Distillery, a heavily peated distillery from the Isle of Arran Distillers. This single malt was matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. It was bottled at 46% ABV without added color or chill-filtration. LAGG is named after the last legally founded distillery on Arran, which closed in 1837. Initially released in the UK in summer 2023, it's available in the US beginning June 2024. (SRP $74.99/700ml)

92 proof. Aged in ex bourbon barrels. 50 PPM. Earthy fruity peat, toasted barley, toasted caramel, toasted lemon, graham cracker, marshmallow, sweet corn with brown sugar, butter, charred oak, coffee, brownies, different, candied bacon.
Completely disagree with the professional reviewed comments. This is an interesting craft single malt whisky that is all at once peaty and oily and creamy. Its a great pour…and i will have many more glasses.
Nose : alcohol, light peat, medicinal Mouth : strong peat, pine, chilli Finish : long, heavy I love peaty scotchs but this one ain’t making it to the fav’ list.
Smoked eel! One of the most raw tasting whiskies I have. Absolute acquired taste! After a year less vegetal and more, for lack of a better term, "fishy" (?).
Bought it at a liquor shop near Ximenting in Taipei. Light color, starting sweet but ends with some bitterness. Will not buy again
