Very smooth. Very clean. VERY neutral. Of all the vodkas I’ve tasted in the last year this was definitely the most neutral. For some this will make it a no brainer of a choice. I still think I might prefer something like Belvedere or Spirit of York for my Martinis, but the quality you get for the price is tough to beat. Highly recommended.
About this bottle
Relaunched in late 2017, Stoli Gold has changed their recipe as well as updated their bottle. The vodka is based on 100% single-estate Gubernator Dona winter wheat. The water used in this vodka has been filtered through shungite, a meteoric rock found in the Tambov region in Russia. The vodka is filtered like their standard Stoli, through Russian birch charcoal and quartz sand, but it also is filtered through coils of gold thread. Available first in travel retail at Heathrow and Dubai airports with a wider release expected thereafter.

Nose displays a touch of warm grain sweetness, but is otherwise completely neutral. Full-bodied and oily in the mouth. There’s a strong note of toasted grain throughout the palate, along with a light but quite persistent minerality on the finish – which is very smooth. 3.00/5.00 – Good (neat)
It is known as a step up from the original, and I tend to agree with that. It is definitely more “sippable” with its own bit of character.
Meh. This is fine, got some flavour but also plenty of bite. Much, much worse than Russian Standard Gold though.
Smoothest vodka I've drinked. This is an amazing bargain. Highly recommended!
