It may not be cheap, but there are very few vodka's on the market that are as smooth as Stoli Elit. A couple may come close, but out of the 20 or so that I've tried, this one is the smoothest, while also not being bland. The nose, while faint, does have pepper, baking spice and lemongrass. The palate is quite oily, with light grain and citrus notes. The finish is incredibly smooth with no burn whatsoever and with a bit of sweetness to close. At this point, this is my highest rated vodka. It is costly, so is it worth the large increase of Absolut Elyx which is probably my second favorite. Maybe not, but if you want to impress your friends and show them the potential of a sipping vodka, this is the bottle to buy.

This ultra premium vodka first hit the market in 2003. Stoli Elit is made using "freeze filtration" inspired by the old tradition of leaving casks outside in plummeting winter conditions. This grain based (winter wheat) vodka is bottled at 40% ABV.

Wow. This gets 4 stars for being a vodka that actually...tastes good. Yeah I know, its weird. The usual rubbing alcohol nose, and rubbing alcohol finish, but the middle part...on the tongue....theres a hint of minerality like only a great copper pot still can convey. A hint of something clean, bright and balanced before it disappears back into the stripped-down clinically clean devoid of all character world that vodka resides in. And this is indeed a rare feat. I will sing this vodkas praises for accomplishing that which seems un-accomplishable. Making Vodka Great FInally. MVGF. Hard to say. Not really a good hat or slogan but still...
To me, this is the Gold Standard of Vodkas. If it were'nt for the $60 price, here in Ontario, this would be the only vodka I would buy. Occasionally, it goes on sale for $50 and I'll splurge and buy a bottle. I drink my vodka on the rocks with a few olives or a twist of lemon. When drinking Stoli Elit, you know you are drinking the best. I prefer wheat vodkas and this is the finest example I know of.
Neutral vodka nose, minor grainy hints, smooth clean crisp body w/ hints of citrus, lemon lime, refreshing, a thin silky mouthfeel, lightly viscous, w/ a smooth clean lightly citrus & crisp finish. Tasted chilled in a sampling tulip.
Stolichnaya Elit vodka has classic aromas of wheat, musk, and baking spices. The entry is smooth with a palate of toffee and vanilla ending with baking spices.Overpriced for it's quality and not as good as Stolichnaya Vodka.
UNBELIEVABLY SMOOTH ! Served chilled, this vodka takes on an incredible ice water taste that goes down like a 32 degree bottle of Fiji with a tiny bite at the finish.
