A honey and floral nose. The pallete has some familair notes of baking spice and caramel, with the edges rounded. The finish is smoother in the back with a peppery taste left on the tongue. You can tell the aging from the smoothness in the back, but with the spice of fresh oak barrels on the front end.

About this bottle
This release from Stranahan’s is the latest batch of its Mountain Angel series and, at 12 years old, the oldest American single malt released to date. The Colorado single malt is made with 100% locally sourced barley and Rocky Mountain water. It is aged for 12 years in new, charred American oak barrels—some of which saw up to an 80% angel’s share—before being finished in port wine casks. Bottled at 94.6 proof, it will be available in limited quantities beginning January 2026. (SRP $99.99)
