Stranahan's Diamond Peak recipe was reformulated in 2019 to include solera finishing to its production method. The American single malt is still aged for a minimum of four years in new, charred American oak barrels. But then the aged whiskey is placed into 620-gallon foeders (very large wooden casks) for further maturation. Some of the whiskey is drawn off and more gets added to replace it. Check your labels to make sure you've got the new or old formulation. This Diamond Peak will have the solera process on the bottle.

Soft nose, little earth and less funk on it. Good mouthfeel, minimal proof present. Semi sweet with a lomgerie unique finish that i cent put my finger in it but i like it. Almost bubblegum esk. Good again just think twice about the price
More oak than yellow label, less barley. Sweeter on the nose, smoother on the finish. Super creamy. Really good for the price point. Still prefer yellow label but a great addition to the lineup.
Maple, sweet malt, oak on the nose. Taste is oak, tobacco, spicy cayanne pepper, and the biggest taste is a coffee. Creamy and smooth. Long maple finish. Damn this is good whiskey.
Smooth American single malt. Oak is noticeable. Has some malty bread flavors. Nothing jumps out. Flavors all in good balance.
Bread and oak on the nose. Cinnamon and caramel dominate the palate. There is a burn that lingers through the finish.
