About this bottle

Released in July 2014, this is one of two single cask bottlings released to celebrate Westland's first Peat Week event. This is aged for two years in first fill ex-bourbon casks and uses 100% Scottish Highland peated barley. What sets Westland Distillery apart from others American single malt bottlings is their apparent desire to be inspired by Scotch whisky while creating something uniquely their own.

Not a lot of nose. But on the palate I get marshmallow, berry pie, apricot, hints of chocolate, with tons of smoke on the finish. Quite good, but I'm really looking forward to the release of their official peated expression.
