About this bottle

Hailing from a lineage of renowned bear tamers in the village Ercé at the foothills of the Pyrenees, the family of Château du Tariquet produces a line of estate-grown Armagnac on a site in Saint Amand, Bas-Armagnac. This expression is distilled from a wine made from 100% Folle Blanche grapes, a fickle, delicate varietal that was once the primary grape used in Armagnac before the phylloxera infestation. Armagnac producers use a continuous still with around 7 or 8 plates, a method that leaves in many of the flavor-contributing congeners that a pot still might remove. The spirit is then aged for at least 12 years in French oak. Typically, the first few years are spent in new, toasted barrel, before being moved into a used barrel (lest the virgin wood overpower the spirit). Bottled at the casks' strength of 48.5% ABV.

Spamin76 5.0

Rich and spicy with a woody spicy herbal finish - medium sweetness. Strong maple nose. As good as any of my best whiskeys.

drwx 3.3

Floral, spices, oak, nuts, toffee, grapes, liquorice. Nice honest uncolored high proof abv French armagnac.
