Tekirdag Raki

Tekirdag Rakisi, 45% ABV. A premium brand of rakı produced by Reni entirely from fresh grapes, distilled with high-quality aniseed from Çesme in traditional rakı alembics. Originally from the Tekirdağ region in Turkiye. Tasting neat and with an ice cube. Clear in the glass, average coating legs. Loaches nicely with an ice cube. Nose is anise and floral sweetness, light. The palate is soft, anise, sweet white sugar, little ethanol or pepper. Rather thin mouthfeel. Finish is licorice and a little peppery spice, then a light sour flavor that lingers along with a mouth tingle. With ice, the flavors blend and remain sweeter, less anise. Quite refined and pleasant raki. My fourth Turkish Raki, second favorite to the basic Reni Raki which has a more viscous mouthfeel and spicy pepper flavor in the mouth and finish.

Smooth, can be apertise before meal or with meal. Good with fish dishes.
