I had the Colorado Crown Club, in a fancy Colorado flag bag. It is the same whisky as this, just re-branded to the state it is sold in. There are several states that have this treatment. You are mostly buying the packaging. The whisky itself was nothing to write home about. It had a gasoline smell when poured, but was decently smooth when chilled. I like the bag, and it was worth a try, but I wouldn't buy it again.
About this bottle
The name of the whisky, the label with oil rigs, and even the cloth sack that comes with the bottle (a Texas flag, no less) all scream "Texas" so you might assume that this is a produced in, um, oh I don't know, Texas. And you would be wrong. This is a Canadian whisky, silly. We know it is distilled from corn, rye, and "other premium ingredients," per their website. And now y'all know it is Canadian.

Texas Crown Club Ultra Premium starts off with harsh aromas of grain alcohol, mold, and oak. The entry is sweet with a palate of faint vanilla. The finish ends overly sweet with a burst of bitter oak and baking spices. The dominant sweetness is a deal breaker. It is not good straight or mixed
Its an "I'm on a budget" whiskey. exceptionally smooth and can definitely taste a hint of caramel on your tongue. not my "go to" for "budget" whiskey but if its available when nothing else is then I'll drink it
This is the first and hopefully last bottle of whiskey that I poured out. The Texas flag cloth sack marketing scheme worked on me so I bought it. I couldn't give this stuff away.
Sweet and slightly nutty. Decent flavor, wouldn’t give it an award but I don’t regret drinking it. Reeks of acetone. Don’t understand why a Canadian whisky is all about texas.
Pretty good product. Great flavor and I love collecting those Texas bags. Probably the best and smoothest whisky you will find for twenty bucks.
