Found this in the cupboard. Here goes for a 2:30 tasting on a Friday... N: frosted sugar cookie, little ethanol, maybe some black licorice and peat. the nose isn’t too bad, it’s actually quite enjoyable the way it’s sweet and earthy simultaneously. P: peat, lots of peat. and licorice. and maybe some burnt sugar cookie if I dig and believe. it’s overall pretty rough and not at all pleasant. F: the initial finish is a gross peaty burn. but as it lingers on the tongue it softens and is less harsh and horrible, I might even call it pleasant.
The Knot
About this bottle
The Knot is a product of Ireland but is technically not an Irish whiskey, as it's commonly mistaken for. In fact, the word "whiskey" isn't anywhere on the label. A "whiskey" liqueur that contains caramel for added color, it is bottled at 50% ABV.

Super sweet. Saw it at a bar, and didn’t realize exactly what it was. I feel hoodwinked! Starts off with very strong notes of vanilla and caramel and maybe honey and a strong alcohol punch. After the third sip, tastes like straight banana pudding. I was def hoping for something a bit more nuanced, even if it is strong.
Someone brought this to a whiskey tasting, thinking it was an Irish whiskey. It's deceptively labeled to make one think it's whiskey, which it most certainly is not. To be fair, in very fine print it does say liqueur. Sickly sweet. Artificial. Maybe an orangy flavor, but mostly just sugar, and lots of it.
Very sweet. Received as a gift. Drinking straight I had to look at the bottle then I saw it isn't really whiskey. It asks you to enjoy it w/o mixing but I find it palpable with tonic and lime wedges. Not worth trying.
Ok it’s not Irish whisky but liquor. Bought it without reading the label. It’s pretty sweet, notes is licorice, honey and peat. I enjoyed it with a little ice. Not satisfying as a slow sip whiskey, but I did enjoy it
This is not Irish whiskey. More like Irish liqueur. Fine for what it is but would not drink it again. I can’t imagine what you would mix it with.
