Marzipan and ripe fruit welcome the smell, unfolding in a soft and warm mix of pineapple, peach, red fruits, malt biscuits, cinnamon. Slight woody and herbaceous scent in the background. Not very penetrating but pleasant. The biscuit and caressing malt is proposed on the palate, always accompanied by fruit and spices, custard, ripe pear, hazelnuts. Astringency of the wood in the background. Rather short finish, with hazelnuts, malt and wood. I admit I was biased, expecting an ethereal and colorless whisky, while instead I found myself in front of an honest, simple product, perhaps a little overpriced compared to its merits, but not despicable.

A complex, Single Malt Scotch Whisky by the Dufftown Distillery in Speyside, Scotland aged for a minimum of 15 years in American Bourbon & European Sherry casks. It has an aromatic birth with notes of toffee apples, ripe autumn fruits, red berry, hints of golden syrup, yeast, chestnut & smoke; while a rich & spicy life adds notes of fresh fruits, roasted nuts, vanilla, dried fruits, red apple & oak; that led to a dry death of medium length with notes of pear, whole grain biscuits, caramel, cinnamon & anise seed. February 2020 / September 2022
Sight 🧐 ; Dark yellow to amber with big legs on the inside of the glass, Nose 👃 ; Toffee, red apples, roasted nuts and a whiff of anise, Taste 👅 ; Spicy notes, a light vanilla, sweet, nice mouth of nuts, slight oak and smoke, Finish 🇫🇮 ; The spicyness comes to the fore, cinnamon and anise, medium length, 8 / 10 🥃
Nose: sherry (nuts, orange zest), honey sweetness, warming spices. Palate: immediate soft spices, sweetness, spices get more dominant at the end but still far from being strong. Finish: short. A bit weak for my taste. Nuts, spices. Somewhat watery. Little dryness. Almond. Good sipping stuff, but boring.
Apple and dried fruits on the nose, caramel, faint bit of smoke covered by the fruits. Taste is a shocker - spicy notes up front, settling into apple and fruits with hints of vanilla shortbread cookies. Quick finish with fresh green apple lingering on the tongue
Light, smooth, easy to drink. Fruity on the nose, on the palate, apple, vanilla, mild spices, dry notes, perhaps from the wood. Fruity finish, slightly dry and woody.
