Nose: very particular: wet metal, aluminum, with veins of apple and pear, malt. Palate: dense and honeyed, but always with a hint of something that reminds me of metal. Sherry and dried fruit. Medium-short finish, with the honey that turns into a light bitter. What can I say, I expected much more after reading the reviews on this site and others (I only read them before the final comment because I don't want to be influenced): the metallic aspect of smell and palate is not bad, but apart from that a product very ordinary and without particular strong points. Visited this distillery when over there, this particular distillery only sends there bottles to south east asia, so a rare find in the states. I preferred the 15 to the 18 as it has more of the ex-bourbon oak in the mix rather than the sherry casks. The 18 was more complex though with definate notes of caramel and the sherry flavor comes through nicely.
Favorite birthday present this year. Has a caramel quality and a decent finish. Didn't need to blow out the candles for the wish to come true.
Rich like Christmas dinner. Toasted almonds and figs with a slightly waxy character
Smell Fruity and sweet, taste like honey with caramel sweetness
Fruity and spicy. Lots of vanilla. Christmas whiskey.
