One of the smoothest bourbons I've ever tasted, and I'm a former bartender, have tasted a LOT! Very nice smokey aftertaste, quick buzz ;) Picked it up in Taos on vacation, and it was the best purchase of the trip, just wish I could pop into a liquor store here in Fort Worth and grab up another bottle :)
About this bottle
Thomas Tate Tobin's Taos Lightning Bourbon honors the original Taos Lightning spirit which was distilled in 1820 by Simeon Turley until his death in 1847 during the Taos Pueblo Revolt. It's named after one of the survivors of the revolt, Thomas Tate Tobin, who later became a bounty hunter for the Army. This chill-filtered whiskey is distilled from a mash bill of 60% corn, 40% rye and barley malt before aged for four years in new, charred American oak barrels.

OK, but sometimes it seems to offer a hint of industrial alcohol. I live in NM, so I have to keep at least one of this company's bottles on my shelf. . .
Smell of char, and a fruit; maybe cherry. Taste oak, molasses, spicy.
Slightly sweet finish. Very little burn.
Weak nose A little smoke and fruit
Very smooth and delicious.
