About this bottle

Tom's Foolery Distillery began in 2011 when owner Tom Herbruck acquired the original Michter Distillery's pot stills. Their bonded-in-bond bourbon is among the first craft bourbons to carry a bonded title. Using a mash of 72% corn, 12% rye, and 16% malted barley, this bourbon has aged at least 4 years in new, charred American oak casks before being finished in used Applejack brandy casks.

Bourbon Obsessed Lexington 2.0

Bottle 17, Barrel 292. Dumped 12/20. Nose: funky mushroom, vanilla, lemongrass, peanut, hey, cola Palate: thin, hot, peanut brittle, allspice, caraway, a little sour cherry Finish: medium with candy corn and muesli - this is where the high malt % comes through it seems From what I understand a friend purchased this on a wayward, off ramp journey somewhere around Cleavland, OH. The pit stop itself was abysmal and made parts of Kentucky sound like Valhalla. This was one of the few bottles of liquor he could find there. With that said this is quite passable. Young, but passable. I cannot, however, in any way recommend it when so many other $20 BiB exist.

Bynjammin 3.0

[11.27.2014] Lucky I found this at a local store - only one bottle left. Nose opens up as salty caramel. Visually only a little oil. The wood is fresh and very strong. If i didn't know better, I'd say that these barrels aren't charred or aged before casking. Slight spice and malt, not overly sweet or complex. This tastes homegrown and simple - just as advertised and perfect to celebrate an ancient holiday. Now that I see the origin comments in Distiller, I'm left understanding that off taste in the background (apple brandy) and wondering how this can be sold as bourbon if not in new casks?

Kroadus 3.5

First: I have a ton of respect for distillers that can put out a bottled in bond product. There’s a lot of stuff out there that sells you insanely overpriced MGP. And you think it’s cool Nose. Vivid green apple skins and caramel. Palate: GREAT mouthfeel. Sweet oak. Hot spice burn and some slow molasses tannins. All in all, not a bad pour at all. It’s got it’s own mood for sure. I’m far from an expert. Just my opinion.

OldCrow 4.0

Barrel 276; Bottle 194 Neat The nose is a faint corn and butter. Creamy mouth feel that warms the tongue and continues down the throat with a nice spicy finish. Sweet on the palate. Smooth overall, it must be be applejack cask finish. This is unique, I will be keeping a bottle in the cabinet.

kalimotxo 4.8

Rich, buttery mouth feel. Lots of oak and tastes like a high-rye bourbon. Finish is extremely long. If you like Old Ezra 7, you'll like this. Bottle is from barrel #34, distilled 5/12 and bottled 8/19.

campbak 3.8

Slightly sweet nose with a hint of smoky oak. Creamy well bodied whiskey, sweet, kettle popcorn, fairly long finish, oily and pleasantly clings to the tongue.
