I love port wood finish, but not many new-make spirits interact well or ages well in port pipe, either the wine takes over most of the taste or the barrel adds too much spices to the finish unbalancing the entire whiskey but this is perfect, in sweetness, smoothness, lightness and there are mild spices which lingers slowly whilst fading. This is really something special, a gem in Speyside.

Nose: Light, summer berries, oak, hairspray, acetone, furniture polish Palate: Children’s sweets, tannic, red wine. Very sweet, caramel, plums, cranberries, citrus, butter Finish: Zingy, black pepper, lemon zest. A little firey. Summery, zingy and zesty. Very fresh tasting. There’s a little sourness, but it is quite pleasant for it! #WWD
Honey and dried fruit on the nose followed by honey and candied fruit and caramel/toffee with port influence. A bit of caramel apple flavor ends the taste with a juicy fruit gum finish. A dessert dram of top shelf worth.
easy and then easy! Nice smoke. Cool, have again.
