Town Branch Maple Barrel Stout Finished Bourbon (2022 Release)

For those that have found and enjoyed Bardstown’s Founder’s finished bourbon, this Town Branch is its less expensive cousin. While the bourbon isn’t as subtle as Bardstown’s Founder’s, this Town Branch makes up for it with the maple stout sweetness. It isn’t over-powering, but you know it’s there, and it does enhance the bourbon flavors. I really enjoy this bottle and find myself drinking it like a “comfort” food…it’s warm and inviting, and wants to give you a nice warm hug. That matters during these cold winter months in the Midwest.

Definitely a lot of chocolate and roasted notes on the nose. Palate is cocoa, silky mouthfeel. Not picking up any maple this first go around, but it’s quite nice. Finish is quick, but that’s to be expected from a lower proof whiskey.

Love this for the price! Agree that maple is soft on the taste, but nose is full of maple and really nice drink all the way through.

Light but good maple taste. Little too much burn and toasted flavor. All around solid
