2019 Release (barrel # 1755 / 11-23-14) 54.86% ABV. It is a rich, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Town Branch Distillery in Lexington, Kentucky. It is made using lime-stone rich water source & local grains. The fermented mash bill of 72% corn, 15% malted rye & 13% malted barley occurs in cypress wood containers, while distillation takes place in two large copper pot stills from Scotland. It’s matured in oak casks (char level 5) for about 5 years; being bottled on 9/16/19 at 109.72 proof; with an out-turn of 145 bottles (bottle #28). It has an aromatic birth with notes of burnt oak, caramel, toffee, toasty brown sugar, baking spices, malted barley & dried fruits; while a rich life adds notes of cinnamon, citrus & hints of cherry; that led to a long & complex death with notes of dried pineapple, rye & ground coffee beans.
