About this bottle

True Story is a whiskey brand launched by Wes Henderson, co-founder of Angel's Envy and Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee. This bottling consists of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey aged 5-6 years in charred new American white oak barrels that was then finished in white Moscatel wine casks for up to 6 months. Bottled at 90 proof, availability begins October 10, 2024 at select retailers in Kentucky and Tennessee and via the brand's website. (SRP $59.99)

Neck pour. Nose had floral and toffied candy notes. Flavors of soft fruits of marischino cherry and apple juice . Although this is a Wes Henderson of Angels Envy fame newer product , it is more reminiscent of some of Buffalo Trace products . Although i tend to like richer oaky bourbon , this one wiil be a nice addition to enjoy when i am in a more easy drinking monent. Only 90 proof and the finish is short so not a lot of time to develop new notes on the finish. Score 3.75 -4 . Price is about 60 bucks , so its questionable purchase if you already have a favorite in this price range , its not going to beat it , but if you need a new product on your bar to enjoy it will serve its purpose

Good stuff! Nice balance of fruit and spice, good finished bourban that does not mask the bourban flavors.
