Sharp at first sip, malty, smokey, young, sweet grain, soft wood, grassy, meadow, floral. These are the first taste impressions. As I sipped and filled a second short dram the bite softened. I was able to hold it in my mouth comfortably for a time to swish and feel. I seemed thin but has some long legs of oily flavenoids. The tast becam more floral and very typically grain and mildly sweet. Pleasant all around. The price point, $22 at costco is great for this dram. Its kind of a mild typical single malt flavor without the high cost. Not too long of a finish but a long pleasant feel, reminiscent of Bruichladdie Classic Laddie flavor. Ill have to run it. Y my buddies to see what they think. They call me a budget king of decent whiskey. -Lifeinkilts- Indianapolis IN

I was not expecting much based off the color and nose - a very light gold that just looks very young, and a fairly light, nondescript nose with a hint of smokiness. Immediate thoughts on first sip were exactly what I was expecting based of color and nose, but then it grew and transformed. Filled out into robust bourbon notes that made me question what I was sipping. I’m genuinely surprised and impressed. For a bourbon lover wanting to explore scotch, this could be a good entry point. A hint of what the scotch world has to offer with a really nice transition to the bourbon characteristics they will enjoy. For $22 (Costco), this is a great bottle.
A light honey-orange. Thin body. Floral nose – jasmine, vanilla, Turkish cake. Sweet and light. Creamy and surprisingly viscous. Sweet but not overwhelming. Lemon peel. A raw oat note announces the malt’s youth. Almond. A tad bitter around the periphery. Overall, nothing too objectionable but nothing to write home about. Affordable, but can’t hide its youth. Sweet and simple I don’t regret the bottle but won’t seek a replacement.
For a reasonably priced whiskey, this is certainly a solid choice. At $27 a bottle, it can easily be a daily drinker. It has a sweet and oaky flavor, but it’s not particularly complex. However, it’s worth noting that it’s $27 for a single bottle. If you’re looking for a tasty single malt scotch at an affordable price, this is definitely an option.
Definitely green apple on the nose, although the smell was richer than the taste. Somewhat thin and a bit watery, with a youthful flavor. “Full” is not the word I’d use to describe, but subtle and pleasant flavors are there. For the price theres nothing wrong with it. Significantly better than many more expensive and popular Canadian whiskies.
In the nose I get fig, pineapple soda, dusty, cherry, it’s very sweet and fruity. The taste is on the lighter side but very pleasant. I get some vanilla, fig, slightly sweet but not to the extent of the nose, it’s more dry. It’s a little astringent but not hot. A little herbal great value for the money.
