The nose isn't too strong or too weak, it is perfect for taking it all in. It offers up ripe fruit, charred oak, dark chocolate, smoke, vanilla, molasses and a bit of marshmallow. It is very full and thick, with a very well rounded profile that is strong but cohesive. It gives the classic Weller Antique profile, but much more intensely. The palate is smooth, rich and chewy, giving you charred oak with baking spices hitting the corners of the mouth, Vanilla and charred oak swirl around as ripe fruit and dark chocolate play the perfect supporting role. The coming together of flavors is unbelievable, making you think you're eating a dessert rather than drinking bourbon. It is a cake, it is custard, it is everything you could want. The finish is medium long with some spice keeping the corners of the mouth tingling and savory notes of dark chocolate and smoother notes of vanilla and charred oak slowly fade away.
