About this bottle

West Cork Distillers was founded in 2003 by childhood friends Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy, and John O'Connell in the county of West Cork, Ireland. They use hand crafted equipment, Irish grown grains, and spring water to make their whiskey. Their 12 Year Port Cask Finished expression is a single malt triple distilled in pot stills, aged for 12 years in first fill bourbon casks, and finished for 110 days in Douro Superior port wine casks. This limited edition expression is bottled at 43% ABV.

Very smooth Irish whiskey light floral nose with almost no taste and all finish (after taste) of sherry or oak light fruit vanilla rhubarb or strawberry very unique but needs a more flavourful first taste

Soba45 3.5

Not a bad dram but despite abv runs hot. I couldn't even tell it was port finish until I read the details it could have been sherry it's that faint. Definitely wouldn't grab a bottle.

This one a little spicier than the rum finish and a lttle rougher, it has a good body and is enjoyable

Petr Bures 3.5
