Showcasing Westland's five-malt mash, this independent bottling is not for novices. Patience and the right amount of water are essential. Initially quite muted and prickly, the nose opens up with vanillin powder, white pepper and light citrus notes. Yeast plait, cider and melon come through. It improves gradually and evolves. The palate transitions towards grapefruit, crisp apples and ginger before peppery, floral and juicy flavors take hold. Water reveals ripe peaches. Lemon zest, pears and herbs linger in the creamy aftertaste. A well-made single malt! RATING: 3.7/5.0 stars ≙ 85 pts → ABOVE AVERAGE [+]
