This was a father's day gift from my son. Picking up some baking spices on the palate and other spices on the finish. Theres an earthy and leather note coming through mid palate. It finishes like a rye with a spicey note at the end. The heirloom corn lends flavors more like a single malt whiskey than a typical bourbon. I keep going back for more to taste other flavors. This is an interestingly good drink.
About this bottle
Baby Jane Bourbon is made with a proprietary heirloom corn variety named Baby Jane. Grown just a few miles north of the Widow Jane Mines in Upstate New York where the brand sources its limestone water, this corn variety is a hybrid of Bloody Butcher Red and Wapsie Valley Yellow corn. Its cooked, fermented and distilled in Brooklyn and in Kentucky and aged for 4-6 years. Bottled without chill-filtration at 91 proof (45.5% ABV), it's available nationwide beginning June 2024. Texture is extremely smooth and oily with vanilla overtones to start and mellows out to a sweet caramel finish. Highly recommend and hoping this is a new mainstay for Widow Jane. Incredibly priced for the quality!
The nose is sweet as honey thst cartues over to the flavor with s sneaky burst of caramel. Its not quite like the Widow Jane, but satisfying for such a wee lil baby…get…in…my…belly!
Best of all the widow janes. Priced super fair. For $50 this is easily my new daily pour
Not bad. I like the non-baby version better. But this works.
Not bad. Would probably go elsewhere for the price.
