Tried neat. Batch 31 bottle 655. There is a reason it is called American oak aged.. I get lots of wood on the nares and palate which seems to taste light and young. I also get rye, barley, grain, and green apple. It’s overall smooth but thin on the palate tasting somewhat young with it being difficult to pull out many notes on the palate. I can see this being a great rye to someone new to sipping whiskey.

Not sure of the mashbill on this but tastes like another high rye MGP sourced variant. Familiar flavor notes with a slightly drier finish and heavy blast of mint. Nothing new to see here. I got this bottle from a friend, would not purchase as there are so many choices in the same camp many for less money. I prefer the barely rye 51 % profiles and am growing tired of these copycats............65/100

Had this soon after the Black Maple Hill Rye (Green Label) and it reminds me of that. A little bit less grassy, a little smoother, sweeter, easy, and balanced. A little less nuanced. A little more forgettable. I think this is a pretty neat (interesting) pour. Obviously somewhat spicy but less so than your average rye. Lighter in color than many pours. A touch of clove. A touch of spiced wine.

Sweet smell, a little apple. Tails off to a slight alcohol smell towards the end. Smooth. Real smooth. Definitely has the rye spiciness both something else. Some earthy tastes, probably the american oak. Honestly this is fantastic. Another great taste from Widow Jane. I’m a fan.

Floral nose almost, you get the dill and fresh cut vegis. Palate is sweet and spicy then mellows, well rounded, more dill, mint, sugar, it’s just nice. Tastes like Willett 4yr rye but 90 proof. Easy going, not challenging, just really nice.

The nose is somewhat astringent with dried flowers, dried citrus fruit, straw and rye spices. The palate is also somewhat astringent with rye spices, oak and short hints of vanilla. The finish is medium with a fading astringency, rye and oak.
