Wolcott Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon

Series #0126 An intense, Bottled in Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon by Master Distiller Danny Kahn. It is crafted at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bradstown, Kentucky. bottled at 100 Proof. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grain, wood, fruit & spice; while a balanced life adds notes of cereal grains, dried fruits, caramel & vanilla bean; that led to a bold death of medium length with notes of oak, leather & smoke. August 2023 / October 2024

Really strong and sweet vanilla nose that crosses paths with an equally strong alcohol presence. But on the palate the vanilla settles in nicely and the burn fades leaving Bubble Double chewing around your mouth. Finish drops off and disappears quickly, but leaves a hint cinnamon to remind you of what just passed.

I got to taste this in a tasting and it had the flavor profile I enjoy very much in a classic bourbon. This was my first BIB too so that’s something to celebrate. Oak, cherry, vanilla and cinnamon notes were well balanced with the 100 proof. Definitely thinking about purchasing it later.

Its solid for a BiB bottle. I wouldnt rush to grab this or restock it, but its fine. The alcohol can be a little harsh at times when you pop the bottle, but it gors away over time. Kirkland/costco BiB is bettwr in taste and value.

Nose is vanilla, molasses and Stone fruit. Light oak. Taste goes more toward the classic brown sugar, charred oak and leather. I wish more of what I got in the nose came through in the taste, but still good.

Light, sweet nose orange peel, white chocolate, and a hint of baking spices. Palate is very grainy. Tastes pretty young and vegetal. But the finish is nice and bold and spicy. Good but shy of great
