About this bottle

This Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked is the first Distillery Series bottling for 2019. The original bottling debuted in 2015 and has since inspired re-releases. The bottling begins with fully matured Woodford Reserve Bourbon. Then instead of one year of finishing in heavily-toasted and lightly charred barrels like the Double Oaked version, it matures for two years--hence the Double Double Oaked name. Bottled in late 2018 in 375ml sized bottles, this comes in at 90.4 proof and is sold exclusively at Woodford Reserve Distillery.

Nose: Pepper and honey Palette: Lots of oak and pepper. Creamy and very full bodied. Finish: Light pepper and oak finish that lingers for a bit. Zero bite, very smooth. Notes: Definitely my favorite from Woodford and up there with my favorites overall. Love the full bodied flavor. I typically like a bite, which this lacks, but I definitely don't feel like I'm missing anything. This will always be on the bar cart.

Inviting nose, lots of caramel at first with brown sugar and oak. Warm, Round taste on the palate. Lots of Caramel, brown sugar and a cherry finish. Fruit notes linger on the palate.

Oaky, spicy, rich and full, with the perfect amount of sweetness. One step above the double oaked and absolutely one of my favorites.
