Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Madeira Cask Finish

brown-forman/woodford peeps: do another release of this, proofed up, maybe aged more, & blend less of the woodford wheated into your bottlings - & finally, make it *more accessible* price wise. IF you do that, i think this could be a staple within the finished american whiskey world for bourbon drinkers & new whiskey patrons… the finished stuff is growing like crazy. from what i’ve seen, once people get a taste of a solid wine-finished whiskey, they want to seek out the best ones. it’s such a treat. this expression has the potential, & also- woodford would be a good company to do this w/. i have ordered this whiskey, & then i almost bought a bottle today…that was until i seen the price tag of 249.99 (yeah, museum prices type place on a lot if bottles) but that’s the only store where i’ve seen this, & i only live 75 miles from the distillery. however, even if it were MSRP…still too steep. get ppl hooked first, then you can jack up the prices! lol

Nose: Incredible nose with vanilla, oak, and a moderate amount of banana Palate: Lighter with wine sweetness and citrus Finish: Short finish with vanilla, oak, and a bit of spice Higher proof or cask strength would have made this a banger

Had open for about 2 months. Down to lable. Nose is nice, rich, dark fruit Taste sweet, dark fruit, lots of maple syrup. Mouth feel is light. Its not overly complex but solid finished burbon but not living up to the price. I do enjoy it

Very smooth bourbon. Notes of caramel, mild chocolate, and madiera (shocking...). Solid overall and flavor stands out from your standard bourbons.

This is fantastic. Rich fruit forward notes. Only wish they'd pop it up to like 105 proof.. otherwise it's near perfection delicious sipper.

Initial notes of dark fruit and maple finishing with tobacco. Smooth and easy to drink but lacks complexity given the price point.
