Woodinville Private Select Single Barrel Bourbon, Liquor Barn No. 6

Been sitting on this one for a while. Opened the back cabinet tonight and there it was right up front, so here we go. Oily in the glass, coating nicely. Right off the bat, the nose presents very sweet. I'm getting apple butter and barn hay, fall spices, allspice, nutmeg and clove. Palate impact is immediate. Apple butter leads the way, oak, cocoa, rootbeer and coffee candies, and black pepper. This whiskey reads hot, but not off-puttingly so. My only negative comment is that with so many intense flavors, the finish turns a bit bitter. I poured some into a rocks glass, and man, it hit great, rounding off the edges and letting the finish fade nicely. This is a solid sipper. Never had a bad Woodinville, but this selection is at another level.
