Wyoming Whiskey Private Stock Bourbon (L&K Rooster)

The nose starts with charred oak, vanilla, bread, creme brulee and brown sugar. This has all of the hallmarks of being wheated and it presents itself incredibly. Overall, the nose is a mix of cake and bread, taking the best qualities for both. As it breathes, there are feet hints of smoke and leather but ultimately it leaves you craving to take a sip. The palate is gentle, filling the mouth with charred oak, bread, vanilla oak in baking spices. It is very easygoing, very easy to drink and a great nuance of flavor. Unlike many wheated bourbons, there isn't a strong influence of fruit. It is like having a piece of fresh bread followed by a slice of pound cake. The finish is medium with a lingering spiciness in the mouth as the rest of the flavors fade away. This is definitelt held back by the finish, but there is a definite soft spot for this one.
