2 oz poured from a 180 ml bottle (NAS), purchased at a FamilyMart in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Nice clear golden yellow. Aromas of caramel, toffee, booze, citrus, malt, spice. Tastes of caramel, toffee, some booze, citrus. Medium body with nice warming heat on the finish.
About this bottle
This 10 year single malt is an introductory expression from the Yamazaki Distillery, the oldest distillery in Japan. It was built in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory Limited. After aging in first-fill American oak, the whisky is bottled at 40% ABV.
