Baijiu influence is very noticeable on the nose and in the aftertaste, which is quite bitter. Low ABV leads to rather boring taste. Interesting but not very special.
Zhong Shi Ji
About this bottle
Created as part of a joint venture between international drinks conglomerate Diageo and China's 3rd largest baijiu producer, Jiangsu Yanghe Distillery. This whisky is a collaboration between Diageo's Scotch Whisky blender Craig Wallace and Chinese Baijiu master at the China Alcoholic Drinks Association, Zhou Xinhu. Zhong Shi Ji is distilled in Scotland but the maturation occurs in China (so it's not a scotch whisky). There a combination of processes occurs, one of which includes maturation in Chinese ceramic pots among other steps which have yet to be revealed. It will be exclusive to the Chinese market.
