About this bottle

The Sneakerhead Blend is the fifth release for the 2XO's Icon Series. Like the others, this one was blended by American whiskey blender Dixon Dedman using a double-barrel process. For this bottling, two bourbon mash bills were used — one with a high-rye 35% recipe and another with a moderate 18% rye recipe. Dedman double-barreled the high-rye recipe into new, charred oak barrels (#3 and #4 char levels) for 9 months to a year. This high-rye portion makes up 60% of the blend. Available nationwide beginning October 2024. (SRP $99.99)

Color: beautiful rich amber color, mostly due to extensive times in barrels of char 3 and 4 types. Nose: tons of baking spices and oak, cooked caramel, almost banana bread like minus the banana aroma. Typical vanilla and fruity smells such as orange and raisins. Sweet nose, not a fantastic nose but pretty decent nose. Palate: Oaky and peppery and not supper viscous. The finish is pretty decent, especially for being only 104 proof. Flavors of all the spices like nutmeg, all spice, etc, are there. The oakiness mutes the sweetness, but you can tell it's there. Its ok, maybe needs more revisiting. For a double oak, it doesnt have the sweetness as a Sagamore, Peerless, or 13th Colony. Definitely costs more than it delivers, its a $60 bottle all day but i guess when its a 'Likited Release' series, they can upcharge. Better tasting bottles for the price point and proof.

Nose: Bursting with caramel apple pie, baked apples, cinnamon, and a touch of oak. Rich and nostalgic, like homemade sour cream apple pie. Palate: Rye-forward with cinnamon spice, light nuttiness, and a hint of mint. No fruit or bourbon sweetness carries through. Finish: Medium, leaning dry with gentle rye spice and lingering cinnamon warmth.

The more I drink this, the better it gets. This blend is near perfection! The nose, palate, everything. Perfect amount of heat at 104, and the finish is long and perfect. Love it!

Good flavor, but not great. Full bodied and good mouth feel. A bit hot for me.
