504 Hibiscus Spiced Rum

On the nares I get like a mixture of cough syrups, mostly Robitussin, rubber, and gasoline with a hint of Hibiscus. Omg on the palate it taste like cough syrup oh this is awful and awfully bitter with notes of gasoline. I can’t believe I flew this home with me from NOLA. I can even finish the small neat pour after opening the bottle. This will collect dust on my bar until some family member comes over that knows nothing about good spirits and I serve them this.

Nose of caramelized sugar, anise, cinnamon, cloves, sandalwood, flowers, citrus and Jägermeister. On the palate shockingly bitter, like aspirin bitter, not fun bitter, followed by what I can only describe as a hopeless mess of spice, citrus, burnt rubber, flowers and miscellaneous bandaids and medicines. There’s no way around it. It’s putrid. I could have bought so many other things 😩
