Sample from Max’s. A little too sweet for me, I like finished spirits to still have a balance. Nose has notes of tobacco, pepper, and orange. Palate has substantial honey and burnt sugars on it. Orange, pear, slight might and pepper. Cocoa and oak notes round it out. The finish is what I dislike most, bittersweet and long lasting. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good rum, just not as good as I’d hoped.
