Released under Ron Diplomático's Single Vintage series, this Venezuelan rum is a blend of rums distilled in 2001 using an antique copper pot still and batch kettle process. It spent an initial aging period in ex-bourbon and single malt casks before being blended and finished in used sherry barrels for a year. It's bottled at 43% ABV.

I started my spirit adventure on rum and at the time I didn't truely appreciate this drop. I thought there was a slight off note. Once I got into whisky however this became one of my top rums. Not to sure why however but that off note I really came to enjoy. If I ever added a rum to my collection this and Zacapa xo would be first in line. Although the price point for this one these days might give me pause
This for me is at the top. I have tried many. It's not as cloying as exclusiva reserva. I really like this and Ron millionario xo. Cheers
