Farrista has been manufactured at Fazenda da Barra, in Martinho Campos, since the colonization of Brazil, whose first owner was the bandeirante João Vieira de Alcântara. As soon as he established himself on the property, he began manufacturing brown sugar in the mid-18th century. At that time, the product was easy to trade and very profitable, and its production resulted in a by-product, molasses, which, instead of garapa, began to be used as a raw material in the production of brandy. Therefore, this drink is not a Cachaça but a Melado Brandy. However, its high quality impresses the taster. Farrista Prata 600ml is a drink aged in jequitibá barrels, a typically Brazilian wood. Robust, it has an alcohol content of 45%. Around 1950, due to tax requirements, the brand was chosen, which originated from the name of a donkey, the producer's pet. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional.
