The Mexico City-based Auténtico Alacrán brand debuted this extra añejo tequila in 2016. It's distilled from 7 to10 year old blue weber agave harvested from the Los Altos region of Jalisco and spent 40 months maturing in barrels of ex-bourbon American oak. Bottled at 40% ABV.

To all 1942 drinkers like my old self, do yourself a favor and drink this XA. Its a third of the price and has so much flavor I blind tasted myself with this and a 1942 and all I can tell you is iv never ordered 1942 again. Same aging process, same high quality ingredients... its a no brainer
Incredible value! This XA is perfect as a bourbon substitute for making Manhattan's because of the sherry notes or you can sip it neat.
