Butterscotch, slight eucalyptus, not overly sweet, very little molasses. This rum is rich and light, incredibly smooth, but subtle and seem to make you work at all that it has to offer. I wish I had a better palate and could pick it all up, because there is so much (to me) just out of reach. 8 mo later, taking my second sip with a more refined rum palate and hoping!!! that I still think this bottle was worth the $160 (gulp). Yes, whew, The molasses is picking up, cinnamon is there now too. If possible, it actually smoother.

Exceptionally smooth with variety of flavors, many of which likely depend on batch. I would normally never spend this much on a rum, especially given my more limited tasting experience with fine rums. However, this is only available in Puerto Rico at the Bacardi distillery so I disregarded the price and brought a bottle home. It puts every other rum I have tried to shame, and I suspect that i will be hunting for another bottle to rival it for some time — hopefully I find it before I pour the last drop of this!
Pre-Distiller tasting. Gift bottle from my BIL & SIL from their honeymoon on PR. Caramel and molasses with oak nose also show up in the taste with crème brûlée and fig. Very mild. Easy finish. Great sipper.
I bought this in 2016 and have drank from it 4 times. The day I got engaged, the day the Philadelphia Eagles won SB LII, and when i brought my daughters home from the hospital in 2020 and today.
