BOTTLE 022: Bardstown Bourbon Company Collaboration Series: Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon at 108 🎭 Tonight, we revisit a tale of oak, age, and elegance — a barrel-aged love letter between Kentucky and California… 🎭 Welcome back to another episode of “Bjorn Sips Bourbon & Drops Some Banter,” where the mash is mysterious, the barrels are bougie, and the finish is smoother than a jazz saxophonist in silk pajamas. Tonight’s guest star? The Bardstown Bourbon Company Collaboration Series: Silver Oak Edition — a six-part harmony of aged Kentucky crooners and Tennessee tenors, Indiana anchors and Georgia charmers, all coming together like a Southern boy band aging gracefully in wine country. 🍇 Aged to Perfection, Then Refinished with a Cab-er-net Kick! 🍷 Post-blending, this bourbon beast spent 17 months getting extra cozy in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels straight from the lush, vine-kissed hills of California’s Silver Oak vineyard. It’s like they all went on a spa retreat and came back wearing cologne, silk robes, and secrets. ⏳ While there’s no official age statement, the math nerds among us (hi!) will appreciate this: the weighted average clocks in at over 11 years—not counting the extra year-and-a-half Cabernet cuddle session. Talk about a glow-up. 💥 The Sexy Six: A Mash Bill Mash-Up 💥 Here’s the superstar breakdown of who’s in the bottle: • 25% - 14-Year Kentucky (75% Corn / 18% Rye / 12% Malted Barley): The wise, smooth-talking grandpa of the bunch. • 23% - 12-Year Tennessee (84% Corn / 8% Rye / 8% Malted Barley): Hums with sweet Southern charm and a dash of Elvis energy. • 22% - 10-Year Kentucky (78% Corn / 13% Rye / 9% Malted Barley): Solid backbone and balance—like bourbon yoga. • 15% - 9-Year Indiana (75% Corn / 21% Rye / 4% Malted Barley): A spicy little troublemaker who crashes the party and steals your heart. • 10% - 10-Year Kentucky (78% Corn / 10% Rye / 12% Malted Barley): Brings the velvet glove to the bourbon brawl. • 5% - 12-Year Georgia (80% Corn / 10% Rye / 5% Wheat / 5% Malted Barley): A sweet peach with a smooth whisper of wheat. 👑 Guiding this glorious chaos? None other than Master Distiller Steve Nally, who began his bourbon journey at Maker’s Mark in 1972, just four years before yours truly entered the world in a much less oaky barrel. With over 50 years of distilling wisdom and the distinction of being one half of the only living father-son duo in the Bourbon Hall of Fame, Steve’s legacy is practically soaked into the staves. 🌟 Bardstown itself is Bourbon’s Disneyland — home to over 50 mashbills and 30+ spirit brands, each ready to serenade your nose, flirt with your tongue, and do unspeakable things to your palate in the best possible way. So if you’re wondering whether to give this bottle a try… just remember: it’s basically a bourbon symphony aged in a wine lounge. It doesn’t just finish — it encores. 🙏 Thank y’all for all the continued love. Like, share, comment, subscribe — tattoo your favorite mash bill on your arm if you’re feelin’ extra bold (kidding, mostly). Until next pour, keep your glasses full and your reviews even fuller. Very rich, complete and umami expression thanks to the addition of tannins, perhaps from both the barrel and the cab. Does benefit from a touch of water or ice.
Tasted at edge of world brewery in Colorado city, AZ Smooth, flavorful, rich finish
Smooth with lots of red wine influence
