Blaum Bros. Straight Rye Whiskey is made from 92% rye which is sourced from a single farm in Illinois. The remainder of the mash bill includes 5% smoked malt, and 3% malted barley. Aged for a minimum of four years in 53-gallon new, charred white oak barrels, the rye whiskey is bottled at 100 proof. Distilled at the Blaum Bros. Distilling Co. in Galena, Illinois which was founded in 2013 by Matt and Mike Blaum.

Nose is sweet, even fruit forward for a rye. Orange, citrus, hint of licorice/anise, not overly spicy. Palate adds some nuttiness, hint of spearmint towards rhe back end. Sweet, pleasant amount of spice, balanced and not overwhelming. Better than their standard bourbon offering by a decent amount.
Neat. Nose is sweet and Brady rye. Taste is sweet and spicy rye with a similar finish. Not a big younger rye fan but like this more than I expected. I would pick this all day over the willet 4 year.
Spicy nose, orange peel, vanilla, and Maraschino cherries. The palate showcases leather and tannic oak, along with an incense mint. The finish brings you into a cigar shop (in a pleasant way).
This is a whiskey with a strong spicy kick at the end of the sip! It's not a hot spicy, but a warm comfortable spicy. I'm going to need to try a few more solid ryes before my final decision.
Vanilla creme brûlée first, followed by sweet smoke and oak with some menthol, with a smoky richness on a decently long finish. Mild heat for 100 proof, lots going on.
Unique rye, cedar comes to mind and some smoke. Smooth and I like it straight, but a drop of water brightens it a bit.
