I liked this. A lot. Nose: Super classic bourbon with vanilla, brown sugar, caramel, pear, and some charred oak notes. Very sweet smelling. A little bit of background yeasty notes like fresh baked bread. Flavor: Not as sweet as the nose suggests. Still plenty of sweetness but it is offset by leather and tobacco that mixes nicely with the apple and pear flavors and the vanilla caramel notes. Still nothing super surprising but a great representation of a bourbon. Finish: A little spicy, black pepper, heavy barrel char, medium length. This is a super smooth whiskey that doesn't punch at the weight its proof suggests. I liked the extra char notes as they offset t he sweetness nicely.

A mixture of well aged bourbons that are at or close to barrel proof. A classic dark brown bourbon color in the glass. Nose: Baked apples, vanilla, and char. Classic bourbon notes. Palate: Follows the nose beautifully with honey, vanilla, and a hint of nuttiness. The proof brings an incredible richness to the dram Finish: Shows it’s age in the finish with char and chocolate. A dangerous dram given it’s high proof and easy drinkability. The addition of a couple of drops of water made the fruity notes stand out a bit more and I enjoyed the dram equally both ways. A standout bourbon in my opinion! Cheers!

The noes is bursting with charred oak, marshmallow, vanilla and an incredible creaminess. It basically smells like a bakery. It is absolutely addicting to keep visiting it, this is the true definition of a toasted oak finish. The palate is smooth and somewhat dry, filling the mouth with charred oak and some spicier notes. It remains oak dominant, but in a pleasing way. However, the creamier notes do fall a bit flat. The finish is medium and a tad spicy, with charred oak fading away.

Sweet at the start but not overwhelming. Finished Spicy but smooth. Compared to Pact 5, this is a more traditional bourbon and had a longer, spicier finish. Personal preference was with the 5 because the rum cask was done well. But this is a great bourbon for those who like real spice and done have to sacrifice smooth consumption. Found this at Costco last year (2018) for $85. Seemed to be going for $100 elsewhere.

This will make you sweat like you've been running through the jungle with velociraptors in tow. Yep, heat. Seriously, my teeth felt sweaty. Throw some water in, and it turns delicious. And velvet. And caramel. Some cinnamon. Some vanilla. Save it for the cold months, when the man-eating lizards have migrated to the warmer jungles.

Dangerously sweet and easy to drink. On the nose I get a strong note of toasted marshmallows, with caramel and charred oak. Full bodied mouthfeel. Notes from the nose continue to the palate, along with leather and sweet tobacco, and a subtle floral note like rose oil. Long finish with a nice hug.
