About this bottle

This annual release from Michter's Legacy Series is named in tribute to Bomberger's Distillery which was founded in Pennsylvania in the 1800s and later known as Michter's. Each release differs from previous years. The 2024 release features some malted rye in the bourbon recipe. Also, some Chinquapin oak was used in the maturation process that were specially air dried for 3 years before being toasted and charred to Michter's specifications. Bottled at 108 proof, this 2024 edition is set for release in July 2024 with limited availability. (SRP $120)

Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Caramel and vanilla with a nutty almond note. Palate: Cinnamon, baking spice, oak. Finish: Long and very warm. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 7.5/10 - This is another bottle that I’ve had for a while and haven’t reviewed. The age and proof are apparent, but for the cost it doesn’t stand out as much as I’d like.

Aroma - grassy rye, old oak with vanilla. Berries with touch of marshmallow. Very nice Taste - Massive oak bomb with touch of rye and berries. Not much else other than that massive oaky presence. Awesome Overall - very good. Especially if you like a massive oak presence. 4.70

Probably one of the best bourbons i have tasted. Smooth, full, not too much heat and for me, a wonderful flavor of cherry hints throughout the taste. Not like a cherry flavored bourbon but just the perfect subtleness. Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle if you see it!

Price is actually a 4 flight. Oak flavor with a touch of vanilla & caramel. Oak lingering finish with a touch of sweetness. Pairs great with dried bananas!

The nose has bright floral citrus notes with a hint of baked apple. The flavors are very complex with perfect amount of heat.

Awesome flavor with just a little bite. Great mouth feel. If it was a little smoother it would be a 5.
