Brugal Leyenda (Spanish for "legend") is the latest expression released in 2015 as a tribute to the company's founder and first rum master, don Andrés Brugal Montané, whose signature graces each bottle. This double-matured rum first ages in American white oak previously used for bourbon and then in Spanish red oak barrels.

Picked up this bottle on a trip to the DR and I’m so glad I did. A little more dry in the back end but does have a sweet beginning. Taste of honey, vanilla, new leather and slight oak. Straight with a large ice block and you’re good to go.
Great. Very smooth. Notes of caramel, wood, tobacco, vanilla. Close to siglo de Oro level, what separates the 2 is Leyenda is more on sweet side while siglo de Oro has more complexity and is spicier
One of the best, smoothest rums in my opinion. Strong flavor of honey, maple syrup and a light cask wood taste. Doesn't burn when downing it. Very worth the money

Very good. Sweet vanilla, dark fruit, leather, oak in that order. Could be more complex and less sweet.
Excellent taste, on the sweeter side. Suggest to drink with large ice cube for better enjoyment.
