Caribbean dark rum sourced with natural ingredients from Nigeria and Cochin. Blended rum made with column still rum from the Dominican republic, Trinidad, and Barbados and Jamaican pot still rum. Bottled at 80 proof (ABV 40), finished in American oak X bourbon barrels. No added sugar’s colors were flavorings. Light amber in color. Very strong notes of banana bread, some butter scotch. Light viscosity. Some vanilla. Would be great in an old-fashioned! A balanced, Blended Rum crafted with Rums from across the Caribbean — eight-year-old Barbados, Dominican & Trinidadian column still Rums aged in ex-Bourbon casks combined with pot still Rum from Jamaica bottled at 40% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of sugar cane, wood, tree & stewed fruits, herbs & spices; while a rich & bold life adds notes of vanilla, yellow apple, toffee, banana nut bread & oatmeal cookie; that led to a tangy & nutty death of medium length with notes of oak, cedar, banana peel, roasted nuts, tobacco, leather & mulch.
Pale gold, thick legs. Strong aromas: oak, spices (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg), brown sugar, cigar. Mildly sweet, white chocolate, banana. Thick, burn. Balanced for mixing, but enjoyable alone: strong, complex flavors.
Boozy aroma at first, but then more fruity notes in the body. I also think I might finally understand hogo.
Pretty good stuff. No burn, and sweet but not overtly like some other aged rums.
Nice nose but does not last long on the tongue. Easily overpowered
