This is the 73% corn, 10% rye bottling. Nose: candy corn. Palate: Candy corn. Holy crap. This is distilled candy corn. I am an avid bourbon, rye, and scotch drinker. This reminds me a lot of white dog (unaged) whiskey, which, I guess it kind of is? Not sure what most vodka drinkers make of it but I find this interesting enough.
About this bottle
Castle & Key Restoration Release Vodka is made with one of three mash bills (selection of grains), indicated on each bottle. These mash bills form the base for the brand's upcoming bourbon and rye whiskeys. One is made with 73% white corn, 10% rye, 17% malted barley. Another is made with 73% white corn, 10% wheat, and 17% malted barley. And finally, one is made with 17% yellow corn, 63% rye, and 20% malted barley. The limited edition vodka is bottled at 80 proof and available at the distillery and at select Kentucky and Tennessee retailers.

Very nice spice thanks to the high rye content that you don’t get in a lot of other gins. I don’t consider myself a gin connoisseur but this may be my favorite gin so far.
A “bourbon drinker’s vodka” is a great way of describing this pour.
