Ladies and gentlemen.. We have a winner! As a novice dabbler in the world of rum, I can safely state that this is one of the best spiced rums I had so far. Even if you're not a fan of sweet tastes, or you brush your teeth with candyfloss every morning... This rum has to be experienced. I mean, how can one say no to this at this price point? I can easily see myself having a goto bottle of this at all times when I am not in the mood for whiskey. Or having it on a cocktail, or even used for backing. It is so good that life just gets better from it, no matter how you consume. On the nose it's very sweet and fruity with a hint if citrus and cinnamon undertone. On the tongue the sweet nectar aroma is dominant with cinnamon and cardamom aftertaste. The citrusy scent doesn't show up to the party though. And an added bonus is the nice warmth it gives as it travels downward.
About this bottle
Chairman's Reserve Spiced Rum is a blended rum made from both column and pot distilled rums aged for 5 years in American oak with an additional 6 months after blending. To make the spiced rum, a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, coconut, allspice, lemon, and orange are used. If that’s not enough to pique your interest, it also includes Bois Bande, an herb rumored to have, shall we say, aphrodisiac effects.

With the exception of caroni , foursquare and hampden , im just not a rum fan. I find it overly sweet or artificial. But i needed to but a spiced rum today to make some french apple cake. Bought this one for $25, just because it seems to be infused with natural spices rather than artificial ones. Taste is not bad…but not something i’d notmally buy. Sweet. Some vanilla and cloves. But seems to be made for cocktails and mixers, not drinking neat. But…the cake was incredible!
Very vanillarey, which is good Edit: I tried this at a restaurant and loved it, so I bought a bottle but now it tastes completely different so I'm really confused. The cinnamon is so overwhelming. Starting to thik the restaurant just served me the wrong rum. Edit: Getting used to the cinnamon. I wouldn't spend all night drinking it but it's nice for one or two.
Nose: Orange Peel • Coconut Palate: Orange Peel • Orange Blossom • Floral Finish: Coconut • Falernum • Clove I prefer Chairman’s Spiced to Bounty Spiced though they are closely related. Chairman’s Spiced features orange peel, lime peel, coconut meat, bitter tree bark, sour cherry, and wax apple. Style mimicks English style rum.
Nose: honey and spice, ocean breeze Taste: agave, cinnamon and allspice Finish: allspice and black pepper Not super conplex. Very straight ahead. Respectable spiced rom with a sailor flair
This is Christmas mulled wine with a bit higher proof and more evident orange notes. Sweet and easy to drink. An interesting choice if you like spiced rums.
