About this bottle

Matching a flavor profile rather than a specific age, the Anejo Reserva is a solid offering toward the lower end of Havana Club's line. While certainly sippable, this rum really shines in classic cocktails, with tonic water, or in a Cuba Libre. Note: This is not currently available in the U.S.

I learn to drink rum neat on this one. It's actually good on the rock (almost as 7 Aňos), and decent neat. It gives extra kick to your drinks. It's like Especial one, but bit better on all sides, and more expensive. The step up from Especial makes it first really sippable rum in Havana Club product line. Make it cheaper and it will kill the Especial in same manner as happened with Blanco and 3 Aňos. Make it more expensive and it will be killed by 7 Aňos (but unlike Blanco and theoretically Expecial it will be missed). with oak-nutmeg-rum fragrancy and nice mild sweet taste, bit citrusy, pineapple and fresh with little heat on end.

*DISCLAIMER My reviews are not palate reviews, they are based on “am I going waste my money on a bottle of this or save my money for something better”* Sweet but not as overly molasses-like the 7yr. Highly mixable with cola or really anything. Goes well with fruit garnish also. Excellent choice to mix.

Gator Epp 3.0

Butterscotch, marmalade, lemon peel, vanilla, and nutmeg aromas. Mouthfeel is light and rounded. On the palate, more lemon peel, nutmeg, and butterscotch; plus a distinct note of honey, as well as subtler banana chip. Finish is short-medium in length. 3.00/5.00 – Good (neat)

Padron4KM 3.0

Light amber in color. Brown sugar, oak, vanilla, alcohol on the nose. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar and vanilla, a little heat on the backend. Best in a Cuba Libre.

Decent rum, I feel like it's too sweet to drink straight. But I enjoy adding it to my tea to spice up my drinks

Light and almost a fruity scotch quality that gets mixed in with the sweet sugar. Not bad for sipping.
